Aerolane’s founding team pulls from decades of experience building and certifying new aviation concepts. We understood that concepts are nice, but that flight hours are what matter. Aerolane has been running flight tests since 2022 across a wide swath of the southern US.
Aerolane’s towed glider technologies use the same fundamental principles that enabled the Allies to dominate the skies over Europe nearly a century ago.

Troy began his aerospace career in systems and avionics engineering, including work on Lockheed Martin’s C-130J program and roles at Honeywell Air Transport and Dassault Systèmes. He subsequently spent nineteen years at Gulfstream Aerospace. His responsibilities grew from project engineering to G650 wing project engineering, leadership of G650 Project Engineering and Flight Test Engineering, and ultimately large-cabin chief engineer. He contributed to the G650 program, which received the 2014 Robert J. Collier Trophy. Follak later joined Boom Supersonic, where he served in roles from Chief engineer to Senior Vice President of Engineering and Programs to Chief Technology Officer. He was responsible for the technical direction and integration of Overture while building the engineering, certification and program management organizations supporting its design and certification. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from The Citadel and an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He is a past chair and current member of The Citadel’s Electrical and Computer Engineering Advisory Board.

Before that he was Manager of the Production and Airworthiness division where he oversaw FAA manufacturing policies, designee and delegation systems, international supplier programs, aircraft import and export policies, and related technical training curriculum.
Dr. Valerie Manning is an aerospace executive, engineer, and aviator with extensive experience integrating complex aircraft and aviation services into customer operations. During nearly two decades at Airbus, she served in global senior leadership roles including Senior Vice President of Customer Support, Senior Vice President of Training & Flight Operations Services, and Vice President of Upgrade Services. Her responsibilities encompassed Airbus’s in-service relationships with airlines, lessors, suppliers and MROs worldwide. Dr. Manning subsequently served as Chief Commercial Officer of Overair, where she led the development and execution of the eVTOL company’s commercial strategy, product requirements, business development, government affairs, operations, and in-service support model. She is a retired United States Air Force officer, where she served a full career in both active duty and reserves. Prior to Airbus, she was at the aerospace practice of McKinsey & Company. Dr. Manning earned a B.S. in mechanical and aerospace engineering from Princeton University and an M.S. and Ph.D. in aeronautics and astronautics from Stanford University. She is an active commercial pilot and flight instructor certificated by both the FAA and the EASA.

Gen. Allvin served as the 23rd Chief of Staff of the Air Force, overseeing the organizing, training, and equipping of over 680,000 Air Force members and was responsible for the Force’s readiness with the development of its $240B annual budget. As the senior uniformed officer in charge of the Air Force, Gen. Allvin was a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, advising the President, SecDef, and National Security Council. Gen. Allvin is a command pilot with over 4,600 hours across 30 aircraft, including 800 flight test hours and 100 combat hours.

Mike Minihan, USAF (Ret.), commanded Air Mobility Command, U.S. Transportation Command's air component, directing a global mobility enterprise of nearly 1,100 aircraft, 17 wings, and nearly 107,000 Total Force Airmen operating from more than 100 locations worldwide. He previously served as Deputy Commander of U.S. Indo-Pacific Command and as Chief of Staff of U.S. Forces Korea and United Nations Command. Joe Kasper is an experienced government affairs specialist with more than twenty years of federal service in the U.S. House of Representatives, Department of Homeland Security, and Department of Defense. He uses relationships across public and private sectors to successfully support clients. Joe most recently served as the Chief of Staff to the US Secretary of Defense and the Office of the Secretary of Defense as a Special Government Employee. Kasper is an advisor on issues of defense policy, appropriations, and legislative and executive branch stakeholder engagement.
